As I’ve posted many times on this blog, I’m a huge fan of DotA (Defense of the Ancients). It is only right that I suddenly become enamored with Heroes of Newerth (HoN), a game by S2Games currently in beta that matches the functionality of DotA and adds a layer of awesomeness on top.
I’ve played a number of games so far and have found one of my biggest hurdles is re-learning the heroes in HoN. Luckily, many of the heroes are simply ports of DotA heroes but learning who is who is also a slow process. Here are heroes in HoN with their DotA equivalents:

Just to settle this for all of you nabs who, honestly, says a lot of bs:
Arachna is not Viper. Her spider could be seen as a destructible Viper ulti, but then again, not really. She is more like Traxex.
Kraken = Tidehunter with Morphling’s wave.
Scout = Gondar with Sniper’s ulti. And wards instead of Shuriken.
Zephyr is now an agility hero, not an intelligence.
Predator = modifed N’aix. He has the magic immunity, lifestealing and then two new skills which makes him better, imo. The ultimate gives him the attack speed he used to have in former DotA.
Madman is also a mixed breed. He has the ultimate of Troll Warlord, the crit Jah’Rakal would have in melee, the invisibility of Nerubian Weaver and a stun which I can’t place atm..
And to all of you guys saying shit, like Banehollow = Succubus: Amen lol da. l2p >.>
There should be an equivalent hero for Drow Ranger, Enchantress and Bone Clinkz

NOOBs !!! BS !! arachna is both viper and traxex !! combined !! and succubus is pure banehallow !!! Fkin NABS !! … and Kraken is a new hero !! no skill is equivalent to dota morphlings wave doesnt push aside enemies but kraken’s wave does !! .. and hes is nt leviathan !! no skill of leviathan at all !! .. NOOB !! and scout is new hero !! now gondar nor sniper you noob !!! snipers ult is way different !! and just because he has two sowrds you say hes gondar ??!! NOOB !!
wats with all u lost ppl, this is structured on dota, not an identical copy of the game, dont expect to have an equivalent for every hero in dota, and think about the skill hon heroes have b4 u start making random guesses that are just plainly stupid and way off target. Also stop saying that there SHOULD be an equivalent for a hero in dota cos this is meant to be a new game, having same heroes, items and controls would simply make this a btter graphical version of dota, and wat would be the point….? this game is garbage. why not play a game the makers of DotA actually made?
League of Legends is far superior. this game is crap. got a key, installed, played for 10 minutes of the game. the controls are horrible and the map is THE EXACT FUCKING SAME as twisted treeline in LoL.

Actually Electrician is a hybrid str version Medusa and Storm Spirit. I feel his game play is a bit similar to Alchemist too cus he is a imba tank built is support on the hands of the average player for most of early and late game.
Scout is hybrid of Sniper,Gondy,and Lanaya. Really lethal.
Madman is also a hybrid of Gondy (again) but does not have that vital Jinada factor ….. more like a Troll but not range….. what sets him apart are his spells….he has a wind walk , a stun(active), Critical Strike and Beserk.
