Literal Translation Music Videos

We all know that music videos can be quite abstract and often times downright weird…the connection to the lyrics are often a stretch. Well, the guys over at DustFilms have taken a few music videos and have changed the lyrics to describe what is happening in the video.

The result? Awesomeness! Check out one of my favorites by those guys:

DustFilms aren’t the only guys that are doing it though…there are some that try – many of them failing – but a few are worth while. Check out this Creed literal video translation (my favorite non-DustFilms video):

So, I just stumbled onto Passive Aggressive Notes and have found myself reading post after post. The site has been around a long time but in my endless interweb meandering, I’ve failed to stumble onto it before.

For those of you that – like me – are unenlightened, here’s the site’s tagline: “Painfully polite and hilariously hostile writings from shared spaces the world over.”

Following Dee‘s lead I have made a couple of JibJab videos over the past week and a half, each making me laugh out loud. The above is a newly released custom JibJab video knocking Republicans :) JibJab, of course, has a Democrat bashing version as well.

April Fools Day DotA 6.50 Release

So…the DotA guys have a sense of humor and released an April Fools release of DotA. Awesome. You can download it at the DotA forums.

6.50 Changelog:

* Added new item
* Tons of code optimizations so this can be the new stable map
* Added capture the flag mode
* Improved Courier Chicken a little bit due selling change last patch
* Renamed Clinkz and Pugna
* Fixed a bug that caused blackhole to end prematurely
* Fixed a critical bug with creep rax destruction that caused it to not upgrade creeps
* Roshan now has a chance to suicide
* Tons of other misc old bugs fixed (way too many to list, many abusable)
* Improved cast range on Eyes in the Forest
* Due to arguments about who should solo, there are now 5 lanes
* Increase Luna’s attack range by 10
* Heroes can now suicide if they click on themselves really fast (this is to allow for some improved game dynamics)
* Lowered Zeus Agility by 3 and increased Intelligence by 2
* Naga Siren allies now falls asleep for half the duration of enemies with Song of the Siren (to prevent abuses)
* Auto Attacking is now automatically disabled for your hero if the game engine detects you using Attack/Halt frequently. It is turned back on in a 10 minutes.
* Enchantress Impetus now deals physical damage type instead of pure. She has 35 more attack range to compensate
* Improved Siege unit models

Notes:

- This release has been heavily tested and is now the new stable league map.
- Expect a 6.50b soon incase any bugs, lots of recoding went on this version to fix old bugs.
- I jumped to version 6.50 instead of 6.44 due to the hacked versions out there.

- More new content very soon, this was released quickly in order to give leagues an updated map to use.

A Guide to Druid Forms

Over my time off and on World of Warcraft, I’ve seen a number of questions regarding Druid Forms. Well, the other day while reading a random WoW forum, I stumbled on an animated signature image that detailed some of the key forms a Druid character can become. Here are the words of wisdom:

College Saga

I stumbled upon College Saga on YouTube that left me laughing. The synopsis is:

Once upon a time, when Earth was still a beautiful place, an evil force came to turn all living things into Vegetarians.

Three students from suburban Massachusetts would step up against this catastrophe… to end Vegetarian Supremacy.

Mark, Jesús, Maria and their foes would make amazing personal discoveries as the two forces clash.

And so began the ultimate saga about friendship, heritage, sex and explosions.

Although the video below is College Saga in its entirety, the production was done in 4 episodes originally. Throughout the episodes, Final Fantasy is most heavily referenced, although Secret of Mana and Zelda (not to mention Star Wars and Napoleon Dynamite) find their way in as well. I must say that the first episode is by far my favorite as it mimics Final Fantasy the most in regards to character movement and text. The later 3 episodes adopt use spoken dialog over text-boxes in many cases which veers from the Final Fantasy theme. Regardless, the video as a whole was quite funny. Have a look-see:
