Announcing Microsoft wLife ’07 – the iLife Killer

Microsoft‘s new Apple iLife killer has been announced! At first glance, it seems to be a simple re-compilation of pre-existing tools with a nice marketing package on top. Overall, a solid looking product. A special thanks to Brick Blog and Spiralbound for cluing me in on this launch.

Microsoft wLife

The solid architecture behind the new wLife ’07 suite is by far the best thing that has graced Microsoft’s OS since HyperTerminal and Volume control. Judging by their recent success with the Zune, the company is sure to maintain its place in the market. I can’t wait until their next version of Windows Character Map.

  1. This is pretty much the best thing that I have seen in a very long time. And thats all I have to say about that!!

  2. I’ve been a fervent user of these tools in earlier pre-wLife iterations (when they were the Accessories). I am looking forward to the new release eagerly. I can’t wait to see if Notepad has made any new strides in ‘word wrap’ technology!!!

  3. What the fuck? You call this the Apple iLife killer?
    You gotta be kidding me…

  4. wLife Sucks!, you obviously have not mastered the art of sarcasm. You should look the word up and work on it.

  5. This is like comparing a child’s toy car with Dad’s Ferrari! They have taken pretty much pointless programs that nobody even uses on Windows anymore and tried to make them look cool. MS Paint…..what are you going to do….draw a cool stick figure and then calculate the time it took to drop your IQ to be able to use Paint? Then you can take notes on notepad to remember how you did it all in the first place. wLife 07 is a joke!
